About us

We are Anna & Alicia, a mother and daughter from Göteborg, Sweden, who started Swedish Stories.

Anna has a background in linguistics and several years of experience teaching languages, while Alicia has several years of experience teaching Swedish to learners of all levels.

Alicia also runs the Instagram account @swedish.with.alicia, where she shares Swedish language tips and content.

Having both studied several foreign languages, we know how important reading and listening are when it comes to learning new words in context. Seeing and hearing words used naturally, again and again, helps us understand not only what they mean, but also how they are actually used. We believe that this kind of exposure is an important part of building a stronger feel for a language.

This is one of the reasons we created Swedish Stories — to give Swedish learners more opportunities to encounter the language in context and build their vocabulary naturally.
